The Marche region of Italy, is relatively unknown to tourists but well worth visiting for its food, wine, honey production and for wonderful hikes in the surrounding areas of the Appenine mountains’ sub-ranges. Braccano, the village of murals, is the ideal spot to hike numerous trails to the Appenines.

The nearby city of Fabriano was one of the earliest places in Europe to make high-quality paper on an industrial scale, starting in the 13th century, and the town even today has a reputation for fine watermarked paper. The Frasassi Caves are a remarkable karst cave system and are among the most famous show caves in Italy.
